Objectives
Through the use of Information and Communication Technology
(ICT), we plan to achieve the following objectives:
- Develop Internet Learning Centers (ILCs) in 20 schools
across Tajikistan to enable teachers, students, and communities
to access global information and dialogue via the Internet
- Create a pilot project to develop an electricity-generating
bio-gas system for one school in an electricity-deprived
area
- Provide training and resources to teachers, students,
administrators, and parents to improve the quality of education
- Foster cultural and educational ties across borders by
facilitating online collaborative projects between students
in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the United States
- Create online resources in Tajik, Russian, and English
related to civic education, voting, and democratic processes
- Provide youth, especially girls, in Tajikistan with the
opportunity to participate as equals in a global civic education
platform and to learn democratic values
- Conduct teacher training exchange programs between educators
in Tajikistan and the United States
- Engage with and create programs for people with disabilities
- Implement sustainability strategies for communities to
continue the program after the end of current funding period
The Tajikistan School Connectivity Project for Central Asia
is a project of Relief International - Schools Online's
Global Citizenship & Youth Philanthropy Program and has been
made possible with major funding from the United States State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the
